I am also very conscious about stuff I buy, and if something's not quite right I will leave it for someone else, even if it's in a charity shop and costs a pound. Once something is gone, I mentally let go of it and never miss it. I am far beyond the stage of holding onto stuff that doesn't fit, or that I would need to alter massively. I haven't had a big clear out for a while, but I am pleased to report that I have got myself into a state of mind where I declutter as I go along, and I give a bag (not a bin bag, mind ) full of stuff to the charity shops maybe every couple of months. I take things out of my wardrobe and house to donate all the time. However, achieving this look is much more than just choosing pieces of furniture, which sometimes, can leave the area in concern feeling cold, sparse or dead.Īnd I'm bought into it in many ways, here's a lot of decluttering advice I wholeheartedly support and will give myself. A great degree of thought is involved in creating a liveable minimalist space one that feels warm and inviting. The effortless look is not straightforward to execute. This kind of clutter-free decor is a treat to sore eyes as it doesn't include a heavy number of elements and helps the mind relax and retire into a peaceful state after a long, tiring day. The free space it offers allows ample of light to flood the area, making it look spacious. The best part about minimalistic decor the simplicity of it. Minimalism is the art of decorating with less. Minimalist decor can be satisfying yet tricky to achieve. Whether it is the daily dread of keeping our homes clean in the midst of a busy lifestyle, or re-decorating your home on a budget, minimalism in d cor is something that has a lot to offer us. For your first capsule wardrobe, you shouldn't need to buy anything as you will already own enough clothing. Try to limit the number of clothes you purchase as this is an exercise in minimalism and the idea is to reduce the amount you own. However, it seems that this has changed to some extent. If not write down what you will need to add to your capsule wardrobe. Much has been written about it, but the actual implementation of a minimalist life is more imagination than reality for the majority. Have a look through the clothes you've kept, can you create these outfits from what you have. Think about whether you feel good in these outfits, do these outfits match your lifestyle. For example, a go-to outfit might be skinny jeans + loose fitting top + ankle boots. If you're unsure think about what you wore last week what items made up your outfits. Grab some paper and a pen and write down a list of your go-to outfits. Now is the time to think about what outfits you wear. ![]() Once you've finished your wardrobe purge and have identified how you spend your time, chosen your colour scheme, thought about what your wardrobe says about you and found plenty of inspiration.
